Bhubaneswar: A company in Japan has recruited around 30 drivers from Odisha.
The state Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena felicited and congratulated the recruited drivers at a function held at Kharavela Bhawan.
Representatives of the Japanese company and an Indian organization Navis HR conducted the recruitment drive. A total of 180 drivers trained in the Heavy Vehicle Training Centre established by Odisha Government took part in the selection tests. As per reports, in the first phase, a total of 30 drivers have been selected for the job opportunity in Japan as per reports.
The selected drivers will undergo training in Japanese language, manners, rules and regulations in Bengaluru before departing for Japan.
State Transport Authority is running four Heavy Vehicle Training centres with modern facilities, instructors, driving tracks, air-conditioned classroom and hostel facilities for the trainees. These centers also provide a three-day refresher course for the pre-licensed drivers to further enhance their driving skills says report.
