Odisha Shines in India Rankings 2023 with 4 Institutions Among Top 100

Bhubaneswar: Four educational institutions from Odisha have made their mark in the top 100 list of India Rankings 2023. The highly anticipated ‘India Rankings Report for 2023’, released by Union Education Minister (MoS) Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, showcases the outstanding performance of these institutions in various categories and domains.

Among the notable achievers is Siksha `O` Anusandhan (SOA) University, located in Bhubaneswar, securing an impressive 26th position in the overall National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) rankings. Following closely is Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) University, also situated in Bhubaneswar, claiming the 29th rank. National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela secured a commendable 37th position, while the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar made its mark at the 91st rank in the overall NIRF ranking.

Furthermore, Odisha’s educational landscape showcased its excellence in the university category as well. Three educational institutes from the state made it to the coveted top 100 University category list of India Rankings 2023. SOA University gained recognition as the 15th-best university in the country, while KIIT University and Utkal University secured the 16th and 93rd positions, respectively.

The Ministry of Education’s release of the 8th edition of India Rankings for 2023 underscores the significance of the ranking parameters defined in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). This edition represents a consolidation and expansion of the previous seven annual exercises, featuring additional categories and subject domains to provide a comprehensive evaluation. The participation of a growing number of institutions and the increased ranking coverage across various categories and subject domains highlights the importance and credibility of the rankings.
