Ahmedabad: Actor Anupam Kher’s face was printed on fake notes by the counterfeiters in Gujarat.
The miscreants printed the actor’s picture on fake Rs 500 denomination notes worth Rs 1.6 crore and duped an Ahmadabad bullion trader with them.
Interestingly, the notes also had ‘Resole Bank of India’ printed on them, instead of ‘Reserve Bank of India’.
Images of the fake notes have gone viral on social media. Anupam Kher himself expressed his amusement over the incident and shared a newsclip of the fake currency seizure on his Instagram page. “My photo instead of Gandhi’s photo on the note of five hundred???? Anything can happen”, he wrote.
The actor will be next seen as Jayaprakash Narayan in Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Emergency’ based on the former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi.
Kher made his acting debut with the Mahesh Bhatt directorial ‘Saaransh’. He has won two National Film Awards and has been honoured with the Padma Shri in 2004 and the Padma Bhushan in 2016.
