Dhanush’s 50th film Raayan Gets ‘A’ from Censor, To Release on July 26

Chennai: Raayan, which is Dhanush’s second directorial venture and his fiftieth movie was given an A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Raayan is slated to hit theatres on July 26. Its production house Sun Pictures announced on Tuesday alongside a gory poster of the film.

The poster shows Dhanush walking through a dark path covered with blood. “Blood is thicker than everything,” reads the tagline of the poster.

Earlier, Raayan was to be released on June 13.

Apart from directing the film, Dhanush will appear in the lead role. Raayan also features Nithya Menen, Sundeep Kishan, SJ Suryah and Kalidas Jayaram.

A.R. Rahman has composed the soundtrack for the movie. Dhanush was last seen in Arun Matheswaran’s Captain Miller, which released in theatres on January 12 in Hindi and on January 25 in Telugu. The actor is also set to portray the role of Ilaiyaraaja in a biopic on the legendary music composer.
