Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’ Surpasses Prabhas’ ‘Salaar’ in Advance Bookings

Mumbai: Fans across India are gearing up for an epic box office clash this December, as Shah Rukh Khan’s much-awaited “Dunki” and Prabhas’ action extravaganza “Salaar: Part One – Ceasefire” prepare to hit screens. While both films boast star power and intriguing narratives, early advance booking figures suggest “Dunki” might have secured a head start.

According to trade portal Sacnilk, as of December 18, “Dunki” has sold over 71,000 tickets across India in advance bookings already snapped up at national chain multiplexes. Trade analyst Sumit Kadel is optimistic about this promising start, suggesting that if the momentum continues, “Dunki” could even challenge top films of 2023 in terms of final advance booking figures. The next three days are crucial, as they will paint a clearer picture of Dunki’s potential box office performance.

Khan teams up with Rajkumar Hirani for the first time in “Dunki,” a star-studded project also featuring Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal. The film’s premise remains under wraps, but the collaboration between two industry giants has already generated immense buzz.

On the other hand, “Salaar: Part One – Ceasefire” promises an action-packed adrenaline rush. Directed by Prashanth Neel, the film boasts a stellar cast including Prabhas, Shruti Haasan, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Jagapathi Babu. With comparisons drawn to the world-building of HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” “Salaar” is also generating significant hype among action genre enthusiasts.

With releases slated for December 21 (“Dunki”) and December 22 (“Salaar: Part One – Ceasefire”), the stage is set for a box office showdown of epic proportions. Which film will reign supreme? Only time and the moviegoing public will tell.
