Jacqueline Fernandez Seeks Court Protection Against Jailed Conman’s Harassing Letters

New Delhi: Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez has filed a plea in a Delhi court seeking protection from conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, who is currently in jail. In her plea, Jacqueline stated that during a Webex court proceeding on July 18, she received unsolicited messages and a voice note from Sukesh, who was also participating in the same session.

Sukesh, incarcerated at present, has been sending letters to Jacqueline on various occasions, including Holi, Easter, and his own birthday. He expressed affectionate wishes and even dedicated songs to her in the letters, thanking the media for sharing his perspective publicly.

In response to Sukesh’s unwarranted messages, Jacqueline refrained from responding and considered them highly inappropriate. She emphasized the substantial threat to her safety posed by Sukesh’s barrage of letters and messages, alleging that he intentionally directed them to electronic and print media. Despite filing a complaint with the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) about Sukesh’s attempts to establish illicit contact, no action has been taken by the Delhi Police.

The EOW acknowledged Sukesh’s pattern of sending letters concerning Jacqueline to media platforms, describing it as not only directly harassing and threatening her but also affecting her social and professional commitments. The agency expressed serious concerns about the impact on the trial’s conduct due to the coercion and harassment of an important witness, Jacqueline.

The next hearing in this case is scheduled for January 17. This development follows Jacqueline’s recent approach to the Delhi High Court, where she sought to quash the FIR against her in a Rs 200 crore money laundering case involving Chandrashekhar, investigated by the Enforcement Directorate.
