Cancer Cases Rise by 2.37%, UP Has Highest 2.15 Lakh Cancer Patients

New Delhi: There has been a 2.37 per cent rise in the number of cancer patients, stated the National Cancer Registry Programme report.

The data of the report, presented by the Health Ministry in the Rajya Sabha, stated that the cancer cases in 2023 rose to 14,96,972 from 14,61,427 in 2022, as published by The Tribune.

With 2,15,931 cases, UP was at the top of the chart followed by Bihar with 1,12,180 cases in 2023. West Bengal had 1,16,230 cases. Punjab recorded 41,337 cancer cases, HP logged 9,373 cases, J&K (13,744), Chandigarh (1,120), Uttarakhand (12,348), Haryana (31,679) and Delhi (27,561).
