Garbage Piles Up at Capital Hospital as Sanitation Workers Continue Cease Work

Bhubaneswar: Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar faces sanitary hazard as garbage continued to pile up even on Wednesday as the sanitation workers of the hospital have not withdrawn their cease work agitation started on Tuesday.

The Capital Hospital premises have become filthy and foul smelling, alleged patients and their relatives. The sanitation workers took up a cease work agitation and held demonstration over a list of demands. Their demands included payment of bonus ahead of the Dussehra festival and salary for 30 days instead of 26 days. They have threatened to continue their agitation until their demands are fulfilled.

To alleviate the situation, the Director of Capital Hospital, Dr Dilip Panda has written to the Health Department, Khordha, National Health Mission and the Labour Commission, seeking their interventions and alternate arrangements.
