Get Rs 1.40 Cr by Selling Your Poop For A Year to This Company!

A company named ‘Human Microbes’ is offering a startling USD 500 (Rs 41,000) for one stool sample or around USD 180,000 (Rs 1 crore 40 lakh) per year for samples of your daily bowel movement.

The YouTube promo of the company urges young, athletic persons in exceptional physical and mental health to apply on its website to become a “stool donor”. As per the company, the donated poop can ‘save someone’s life’.

The experts of Human Microbes company claim that injecting a processed stool sample from a healthy person can help people suffering from various intestinal diseases, and it can even cure their severe mental health issues.

The company was founded by Michael Harrop in 2020. The company is now mostly accepting stool donors from the US and Canada. But they are ready to accept stools from all over the world, if it can be shipped in dry ice to them.

Experts believe that FMT may work for treating recurrent Clostridium Difficile Infection (CDI), which is a severe colon infection. However, according to experts, there is no strong medical evidence for using FMT for mental health and other diseases.

To become a stool donor, one has to complete the screening questionnaire, complete verification of stool type and physical fitness, and then there would be a video interview followed by stool and blood testing. After successfully completing all these steps, one might be selected as a stool donor.

The United States Food and Drug Administration, has also written a “warning letter” to Michael Harrop, the founder of Human Microbes, which says that the website “outlines serious regulatory violations concerning the marketing and sale of faecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) products on the company’s website”. The FDA also demanded that Human Microbes take immediate corrective actions and the company has been asked to “review and revise its marketing practices, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations”.

“Failure to address these issues promptly could result in enforcement actions, including product seizure or injunctions,” says the FDA.

If you’re wondering how much they will pay you for it, well, somewhere around Rs 1.2 lakh per month!
