27 Killed After Bus Overturns In Southwestern China

Beijing: At least 27 people were killed while several others sustained injuries after a bus they were travelling in overturned on an expressway in southwestern China on Sunday.

The bus had 47 people on board and the injured were being treated. The accident is the deadliest one yet this year.

According to reports, the accident occurred in the early morning in Sandu county, which is southeast of the city of Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou province.

The crash took place on a highway in rural Guizhou province when the vehicle carrying 47 people in total “flipped onto its side”, police said in a statement published on social media.

The remaining 20 people were being treated for injuries and emergency responders were dispatched to the scene, police said, without providing any more details.
