Arrest Warrant Issued Against Former Pakistan PM Imran Khan

Islamabad: After being landed in controversy for his remark against Additional District and Sessions judge Zeba Chaudhry, An arrest warrant was issued by Islamabad’s Margalla Police Station on Saturday against Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The warrant was issued hours after Imran Khan submitted an affidavit in a contempt case registered against him over his remark.

Imran Khan, on August 23, held a political rally in solidarity with his special assistant Shahbaz Gill, alleging that he was being tortured in custody.

During that speech, Imran Khan allegedly threatened judge Zeba Chaudhry, saying she should “prepare herself as the action would be taken against her”.

Immediately after Imran Khan’s remark, an FIR was lodged against him for threatening the judge.

However, Imran Khan, in an affidavit to the Islamabad High Court, admitted that “he might have crossed a line and expressed his willingness to apologise to the judge.
