Elon Musk Takes Control Of Twitter, Fires CEO Parag Agarwal

San Francisco: Tesla founder Elon Musk took control of Twitter and fired its top executives, US media reported late Thursday.

Musk sacked chief executive Parag Agrawal, as well as the company’s chief financial officer and it’s head of legal policy, trust, and safety, the news agency AFP reported.

He had accused them of misleading him and Twitter investors over the number of fake accounts on the social media platform.

Agrawal went to court to hold the Tesla chief to the terms of a takeover deal he had tried to escape.

On Thursday, Musk had said that he is buying Twitter to ‘try to help more humanity, whom I love’. Ned Sehgal and Parag Agrawal were in Twitter’s San Francisco headquarters when the deal closed and was escorted out

The reports came hours before the court-appointed deadline for Musk to seal his on-again, off-again deal to purchase the social media network.
