For Not Having Beard, 280 Men Sacked from Afghan Security Forces

More than 280 members of the security forces were dismissed from service by the Taliban’s morality ministry as they failed grow a beard.

During the past year, the morality ministry of the Taliban government in Afghanistan has detained more than 13,000 people for “immoral acts”.

Mohibullah Mokhlis, Director of Planning and Legislation of the Ministry for the Prevention of Vice and Propagation of Virtue said in a press conference that It had identified 281 security force members for not having a beard and they had been dismissed as they disobeyed Taliban’s interpretation of Islamic law.

He also added that their officials had destroyed 21,328 musical instruments in the past year and prevented thousands of computer operators from selling “immoral and unethical” films in markets.
