Israel’s Mossad Assassinated Hamas’ Chief in Tehran, Know How

Mossad, Israel’s elite intelligence agency used Iranian security agents to kill Hamas’s political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Iran’s Tehran. These Iranian agents of Mossad planted explosives in a building in Tehran where armed Palestinian group Hamas’s political leader was staying, reported The Telegraph.

In the past Mossad had planned to kill Haniyeh in May during his visit to Tehran for the funeral of former Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi. The operation was aborted due to the presence of crowds, said two Iranian officials to The Telegraph.

In the second plan of the Mossad, two agents, working planted explosive devices in three separate rooms of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) guesthouse in northern Tehran where Haniyeh was to stay.

Mossad is the second-largest spy agency in the West after the CIA.

According to The Telegraph, surveillance footage, held by Iranian officials, shows the agents entering and exiting multiple rooms. After planting the explosive devices, they left Iran undetected but maintained a source within Iran. On Wednesday, at 2 am, the operatives remotely detonated the explosives in the room where Haniyeh was staying.

Haniyeh, who was in Tehran to attend the inauguration of President Masoud Pezeshkian was killed in the blast.

The Iranian security agencies now believe Mossad employed agents from the Ansar-al-Mahdi protection unit, a group responsible for safeguarding high-ranking officials inside and outside the country.
