Pakistan General Election Date Changed to Feb 8

February 8 was declared as the new date for Pakistan’s general elections. Earlier the election commission lawyer had informed the Pakistan Supreme Court that the general elections will be held on February 11.

The new election date was announced on Thursday following a meeting between election commission officials and President Arif Alvi at the directives of the Supreme Court.

The new date for general elections was announced by the President House in a statement.

On the orders of the Supreme Court, Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan Sikandar Sultan Raja along with Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan and four members of the electoral body met Alvi to discuss the general elections’ date.
