Mata Shailputri worshiped on the first day of Navratri, know the right method of worship and mantra

New Delhi: Navratri has started today. On the first day of Navratri, worship of Maa Shailputri will be done with the installation of Kalash. Navratri is being celebrated for nine days. It is believed that doing so brings blessings and welfare to the family and a bright future. Let us know what is the worship method and mantra of Maa Shailputri.

According to mythological beliefs, Maa Shailputri is the daughter of the Himalayas. She was born from Shail i.e. stone, due to which she is known as Shailputri. The mother comes riding a bull to hear the prayers of her devotees and holds a lotus flower in one hand and a trident in the other.

To worship Maa Shailputri on the first day of Navratri, wake up in Brahma Muhurta, take bath and meditate and clean the house of worship. After this set up a post and moisten it with Gangajal. Then spread a red-colored cloth on the post and install all the forms of the goddess on it. After this, while worshiping Maa Shailputri, take a vow of fasting and offer white-colored flowers. After this, offer akshat and vermilion (Sindoor). Keep in mind that you should offer white-colored clothes to Maa Shailputri and offer sweets made from ghee. In the end, light a ghee lamp and perform aarti of the goddess.

Or chant the mantra ‘Om Aim Hreem Kleem Shailputryai Namah’ 108 times.

“वन्दे वाञ्छित लाभाय चन्द्र अर्धकृत शेखराम् ।

वृषारुढां शूलधरां शैलपुत्रीं यशस्विनीम् ।।

या करें ‘ॐ ऐं ह्रीं क्लीं शैलपुत्र्यै नम:”
