As the terror of the demons increased, Goddess Durga took the incarnation of her third form, Mother Chandraghanta, and taught the demons a lesson. According to the Puranas, King Indra wanted to usurp the throne of King Mahishasur, who was the king of demons. So the war started between the gods and the demon army. Mahishasura wanted to rule the heavenly world and all the gods were very upset by this. Disturbed by Mahishasura, all the gods reached Tridev and told him the whole thing.

Hearing the words of the gods, Tridev became angry and immediately found a solution to their problem. During this, energy was generated from the mouth of Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh, which took the form of Goddess Chandraghanta. Lord Shiva gave the trident to the goddess, Vishnu gave the wheel, Indra the clock, the sun god the sharp and sword, and the other gods gave their weapons and weapons. After getting all these things, she was named Chandraghanta. Maa Chandraghanta reached Mahishasura to solve the problems of the gods and to save them. Mahishasur attacked on seeing maa Chandraghanta. During the war, Goddess Chandraghanta killed Mahishasura.
