Odia Writer BangalI Nanda Selected for Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award for Translation

Bhubaneswar: Odia writer Bangali Nanda has been selected for the prestigious Kendra Sahitya Akademi Prize for translation for 2023.

As per the announcement made by the Kendra Sahitya Akademi on Monday, Bangali Nanda will receive the award for his translation ‘Nelluri Keshavaswamyanka Shrestha Galpa’ of the Telugu short stories collection ‘Nelluri Keshavaswamy Uthama Kathalu’ by Nelluri Keshavaswamy. This translated book was published by the National Book Trust (NBT) in 2019.

Nanda hails from the Rayagada district in Odisha. He is a retired teacher, who has already translated over 14 books from different languages into Odia.
