Bikaner’s Culinary Innovation: 7 kg Jumbo Kulfi Makes Waves

Bikaner, renowned for its sweets and savoury snacks, has a new claim to fame: a massive 7 kg kulfi. Local entrepreneur Dharmendra Agarwal has created what may be India’s largest kulfi, challenging the traditional notion of this frozen dessert.

This jumbo kulfi, standing 2 feet tall, comes in two flavours: a tangy orange and a sweet-sour pineapple. Agarwal spent two days crafting these colossal treats, designed to combat Bikaner’s scorching heat and serve multiple people simultaneously.

Agarwal’s culinary experiments aren’t new. His past creations include a 15 kg samosa, 151 varieties of golgappas (pani puri), and a 56 kg potato tikki. He’s even used food to promote voter awareness during elections.

While the jumbo kulfi is making headlines, Bikaner’s traditional sweets remain popular. The Gond Giri Ladoo, known for its health benefits and long shelf life, is particularly favoured during festivals and as gifts for overseas relatives.
