51 Ft Majestic Bronze Statue of Lord Buddha to be Installed in UP’s Kausambi

Lucknow: To enhance the prospect of religious tourism, the Uttar Pradesh Government has decided to install a huge 51 feet meditative bronze statue of Lord Buddha in Kaushambi. Buddha spent the Chaturmas in Kaushambi, where he imparted the message of truth and non-violence.

The State Lalit Kala Academy has initiated the e-tender process for the purpose, reported The Statesman. The designated agency will have to complete the statue installation work within 7 months of allocation.

The statue of Lord Buddha will be built using bronze alloy consisting 85 per cent copper, 5 per cent lead, 5 per cent tin, and 5 per cent zinc.

The statue will weigh 52 tons of bronze. An additional 20 tons of iron will be used for its installation. The statue will be hollow inside, with a metal casting thickness of 7 to 8 millimetres.
