Elderly Waste Collector Ends Life In Rajasthan As His Videos Become Viral

Jaipur: An aged waste collector committed suicide in a Rajasthan village after his videos went viral on social media, reported NDTV quoting the police.

The elderly man used to collect plastic bottles and other waste material on a handcart to sell them for income.

It is alleged that some youngsters of the Lohawat village used to mock him. These youngsters also made his videos and posted them on social media.

A video shared on X shows some men making his video and mocking him as he passes with his handcart.

As the videos went viral, more people started recognising him. The man identified as Pratab Singh was ashamed and irked over the viral videos and unwanted fame. He later committed suicide. His body was found hanging from a tree near the highway.

Local police have registered a case and an investigation is on.
