Jaipur: IAS officer Tina Dabi has made headlines again, following her reaction to a woman sarpanch’s fluent English speech, which has gone viral on social media.
The event occurred during a function in Barmer, Rajasthan, where Dabi, the newly appointed District Collector, attended as the guest of honour. In the widely shared video, sarpanch Sonu Kanwar, dressed in traditional Rajasthani attire, confidently delivered her speech in English, impressing the audience and Dabi alike.

Kanwar began by welcoming Dabi and expressing pride in doing so as a fellow woman. She then addressed the importance of water conservation, earning applause from the crowd. Dabi’s visible admiration for Kanwar’s command of English was captured in the video, which has since gained widespread attention online.
Tina Dabi first came into the spotlight in 2015 when she topped the UPSC exam in her first attempt. She began her career as an Assistant Collector in Ajmer and previously served as the Commissioner of the Employment Guarantee Scheme in Jaipur. Dabi has also held the position of District Collector in Jaisalmer before her current posting in Barmer.
