14-Yr-Old Swimmer Dhinidhi Desinghu is Youngest Indian to Participate in Paris Olympics

Bengaluru: Fourteen-year-old swimmer Dhinidhi Desinghu, who studies in class 9 in Bengaluru is set to be the youngest member of the Indian contingent at the Paris Olympics.

Dhinidhi won medals at the National Games and the senior National championships last year. Her performances this season made her the top-ranked Indian female swimmer. The Swimming Federation of India handed her one of the two Universality places and an opportunity of a lifetime to participate in the Olympics.

Dhinidhi will compete in the women’s 200m freestyle event.

She is excited to meet her idol — seven-time Olympic gold medallist swimmer Katie Ledecky. She hopes to gift a self-made greeting card to Katie in Paris.
