16-Yr-Old Dies in Fash Floods in Tamil Nadu Waterfall

Chennai: A 16-year-old boy died when he was swept away in flash floods at the Old Courtallam Waterfalls in Tamil Nadu’s Tenkasi district on Friday.

The flash flood occurred at the waterfall on Friday evening when several people were bathing at the spot. All of a sudden water began to gush out as the level of the waterfall rose.

A search operation for a few hours led to the recovery of the boy’s body between the rocks, a few metres away from the waterfall.

The victim was at the waterfall with his relatives to take a dip.

Following the incident, the Tenkasi district administration cordoned off entry to the waterfall as heavy rainfall is forecast in and around the region.
