5 Maoists Killed, 3 Jawans Injured During Encounter in Chhattisgarh

Raipur: Five Maoists were killed and three jawans were injured during an exchange of fire in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh on Friday.

According to reports, this encounter happened during an anti-Maoist operation in a forest near Gobel village in the Orchha area.

The operation involved personnel from the District Reserve Guard of Narayanpur, Kondagaon, Dantewada, and Bastar districts, along with the 45th battalion of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).

Following the exchange of fire, the bodies of five Maoists, arms and ammunition were recovered from the spot. Three jawans were injured in this gunfight.

Combing operation has been intensified in the area to track down the Maoists who escaped from the spot.
