6 Dead As Kedarnath Chopper Carrying Pilgrims Crashes

Kedarnath: A helicopter crash at Kedarnath in Uttarakhand has resulted in the deaths of as many as six individuals, two of whom were pilots. The incident happened at around 11:45 AM today near Garud Chatti, which is around 2 kilometres from Kedarnath.

According to initial reports, there were six persons including pilgrims on board the chopper, which belonged to Aryan Aviation.

It took off from Guptkashi to fly towards Kedarnath. A total of 33 kilometres were supposed to be covered.

Rescue crews are en route to the crash site, according to the Rudraprayag CO.

Images and videos taken on the scene showed a huge column of smoke following the collision.

Jyotiraditya Scindia, the aviation minister, tweeted about the incident and stated that the issue is being closely watched.

“The helicopter crash in Kedarnath is extremely unfortunate.”  Jyotiradtiya Scindia tweeted, “We are in touch with the State government to ascertain the magnitude of the loss, and are constantly monitoring the situation.”

However, the cause of the collision is still unknown.
