Ambala: As many as seven persons including four members of a family were killed while 10 others sustained critical injuries after the bus they were travelling in was hit by a trailer truck from the rear side near Kakkar Majra village on the Panchkula-Yamunanagar road in Shahzadpur on Friday.
The deceased were identified as Jwala (34), his wife Rinki (32), his sons, Prince (8) and Prashant (6), Rahish Khan and Badan Singh, residents of Uttar Pradesh. One deceased was yet to be identified.
According to reports, the incident occurred while the bus from Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh (UP) was on its way to the industrial town of Baddi in adjoining Himachal Pradesh.
On being informed, police reached the spot and rushed the injured persons to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Both the truck and the bus drivers were booked under Sections 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 279 (rash driving), 283 (danger or obstruction in public way or line of navigation), 304-A (causing death by negligence), 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) and 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) at the Shahzadpur police station.
