Chennai: Officials from the Airport Authority of India met with stakeholders in Tamilnadu today to review preparations for Cyclone Mandous during the next 72 hours. Dr. Sharad Kumar, the director of the airport, stated that all teams had been placed on alert for emergencies and notably emphasised the need to properly moor smaller aircraft and secure ground support equipment in case of bad weather.

S.S. Raju, general manager of operations, stated that non-scheduled operators may be advised to consider moving their aircraft to a safer location outside Chennai Airport as a preventative measure in the event that operations are suspended due to strong crosswinds. Additionally, it was agreed to guarantee that food courts would have an appropriate supply of necessary commodities in case of an emergency. To address the situation, the officials are supposed to convene once every six hours.
