Another Blow to Jagan Reddy; 3rd YSR Congress Rajya Sabha MP Quits Party

New Delhi: YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) received another blow as its MP Ryaga Krishnaiah resigned from his Rajya Sabha seat. He was the third leader of the party to resign after its defeat in the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections this year.

Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankar has accepted Krishnaiah’s resignation.

Earlier, Beedha Mastan Rao Jadhav and Venkataramana Rao Mopidevi, both from YSRCP, resigned from their Rajya Sabha membership. They are reported to have plans to join the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

With the latest resignation, YSR Congress Party’s strength in the Rajya Sabha has come down to nine.

The YSR Congress Party stated that Krishnaiah’s resignation from the Rajya Sabha would not weaken the party. The party  accusing him of aligning with TDP chief and Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Chandrababu Naidu.
