New Delhi: The Centre today said the target has been fixed to establish around 17,700 CNG stations across the country by 2030.
In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Rameswar Teli said 5,118 CNG stations have been established in the country till 31st of January this year.
He said the establishment of CNG stations is part of the development of City Gas Distribution Networks and the same is being carried out by the entities authorised by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board.
Replying to another question, Teli said, in November and December 2018 Public Sector Oil Marketing Companies, OMC had advertised 78 thousand 389 locations for setting up Retail Outlets across the country.
He said out of them as of 1st March this year, OMCs have commissioned 18 thousand 28 retail outlets. He said, further commissioning of retail outlets is a process which involves obtaining various approvals.
