Bihar’s ‘Mahagathbandhan’ Govt To Face Floor Test On August 24

Patna: Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar and his newly formed ‘Mahagathbandhan’ government will face a floor test to prove the majority in the Bihar Legislative Assembly on August 24.

After snapping ties with the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), Nitish Kumar’s JD(U) formed a new alliance with the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).

Other parties– Congress and HAM have also extended their support to Nitish Kumar, who took oath as Bihar chief minister for a record eighth time on August 10.

Meanwhile, Bihar’s new ruling coalition brought a no-confidence motion against Assembly Speaker Vijay Kumar Sinha, who is also a BJP MLA. A notice signed by several legislators of the Grand Alliance was submitted to the assembly secretariat on Wednesday.
