ECI Announces Himachal Pradesh Assembly Poll Dates

New Delhi: The Election Commission of India announced the schedule for the Assembly election in Himachal Pradesh.

According to the notification, the state of hills, currently ruled by the BJP, goes to poll on November 12.

Polls are scheduled to be held in the state in one phase with the election procedure beginning on October 17.

25^th October is set as the last for filing nominations, whereas, 27^th October is the last date for withdrawal of candidature.

Meanwhile, the votes will be counted, and subsequently, the results will be declared on the 8^th of December 2022.

Purportedly, the 68-membered assembly is likely to witness a tight scuffle between the ruling BJP and the Congress, as the latter is looking to regain power in the state after being defeated in 2017.
