Eight Killed in Fire Accidents at Two Separate Cracker Units in Tamil Nadu

Chennai: Eight persons were killed in two separate fire accidents at fireworks units in Virudhunagar district of Tamil Nadu on Tuesday.

At least seven persons died in a major fire accident at a fireworks unit in Rangapalayam of the district. A sudden blast occurred at the spot. Later seven charred bodies were recovered from the debris.

Another person was charred to death in an explosion at another fireworks unit in Kammapatti of Virudhunagar the district.

It is suspected that all deceased were workers of the fireworks units.
