India, Russia Relationship Exceptionally Steady: EAM Jaishankar

Moscow: External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar on Tuesday said that India has substantial and time-tested ties with Russia.

Jaishankar also said that both countries have been trying to find ways to expand this relationship and make it more durable.

“Our objective now is to fashion a balanced, mutually beneficial, and long-term engagement in the backdrop of increasing economic cooperation,” Jaishankar said during talks with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Moscow.

“India and Russia engage each other in an increasingly multi-polar and re-balanced world. We do so as two polities who have had an exceptionally steady and time-tested relationship. In that background, I look forward to our talks,” He said.
