INS Vikrant enters Indian Navy

Kochi: Today is an important day for the Indian Navy. The first indigenous aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant, has been inducted into the Navy. Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated it to the nation at a special event held at the Naval Base in Kochi. Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, and other dignitaries were present on this occasion.

The indigenously developed INS destroyer weighs about 45,000 tons. Its construction started in 2009. 20,000 crores have been spent to build it. Its length is 262 meters, height is 59 meters and width is 62 meters. This ship will double the strength of the navy.
