Jaishankar Calls Soros “Old, Rich, Dangerous” Over His Remarks On PM Modi

New Delhi: Billionaire investor George Soros’ remarks over Prime Minister Narendra Modi have created punch-ups among Indian political leaders.

Meanwhile, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar ripped into Soros for his remarks and called him “old, rich, dangerous and opinionated”.

“Mr Soros is an old, rich opinionated person sitting in New York who still thinks that his views should determine how the entire world works…such people actually invest resources in shaping narratives,” S Jaishankar was quoted by ANI as saying.

George Soros, while delivering a speech at the 2023 Munich Security Conference on Thursday, predicted that PM Modi will be weakened by the business troubles of business tycoon Gautam Adani.

Soros said PM Modi would “have to answer questions” from foreign investors and parliament on allegations of fraud and stock manipulation at Adani’s industrial empire.

The stocks of the Adani Group tumbled after US-based short seller Hindenburg released a report accusing the Adani group companies of stock manipulation and accounting fraud.
