Kanjhawala Horror: Theft At Anjali’s House, Family Allege Nidhi’s Role

New Delhi: Another twist in the Delhi Kanjhawala car horror case involves the theft of many valuables, including an LCD TV, from victim Anjali’s home in Karan Vihar on Monday. The theft was reported on Monday.

Anjali Singh was struck by a car on New Year’s Day and was dragged under it for around 12 kilometres before succumbing to her injuries.

Anjali’s family suspect Nidhi, a friend of their daughter, of being involved in the theft. “Around 7.30 in the morning, our neighbours initially told us about the robbery. The lock was broken when we arrived. The stacked household things under the bed, including the LCD TV, were gone. The TV is brand-new. We’ve had bought it two months back only,” Anjali’s sister claimed.

Another relative, however, alleged the Delhi Police’s involvement. “Why weren’t cops there in front of the house yesterday? Police had been stationed there for the previous 8 days, but yesterday nobody was there. We suspect Nidhi is responsible for the theft.”

The investigation, according to police, is ongoing.

Anjali, 20, died in the early hours of January 1 after being dragged for more than 12 kilometres from Sultanpuri to Kanjhawala in Delhi by a car that struck her scooter.

The Delhi Police were able to locate and record the statement of Nidhi, who was riding pillion with the deceased at the time of the accident, thanks to an analysis of the CCTV footage.

The Delhi Police are currently holding seven of the defendants in the case.

A total of 18 teams of Delhi Police are investigating the case.
