Karnataka: In an effort to increase its prospects of defeating the state’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra made its way into Karnataka on Friday.

Gandhi was greeted by former chief minister Siddaramaiah in Bandipur. According to Siddaramaiah, they anticipated that between 40,000 to 45,000 people will participate in the march. DK Shivakumara, the head of the state Congress said they were reaffirming the pledge of togetherness.

Ahead of the state elections, the Congress has criticised the BJP government for corruption and a lack of progress.
