Kejriwal Will Shift to New House in His Constituency on Friday

Delhi: Former Delhi Chief Minister and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal has decided to shift to a new residence in his New Delhi Assembly constituency on Friday (October 4).

Kejriwal resigned as the Chief Minister on September 17. He has decided to give up all government facilities and vacate his official CM’s residence in the next two days.

Earlier, Kejriwal said he would move out of the Chief Minister’s residence during Navratri, which begins on Thursday (October 3).

Before becoming Delhi’s Chief Minister for the first time in December 2013, Kejriwal used to stay in Ghaziabad’s Kaushambi area. As the CM, Kejriwal lived in a house in the Tilak Lane in central Delhi. In 2015, he moved to a house at 6, Flagstaff Road in north Delhi’s Civil Lines area.

Kejriwal is representing the New Delhi Assembly constituency since 2013 when he defeated the then Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit. He has retained the seat in 2015 and 2020.

The AAP chief came out of jail after getting bail from the Supreme Court. He was arrested and kept in the Tihar Jail for nearly six months in connection with alleged irregularities in the formulation and implementation of the Delhi liquor policy 2021-22.

Assembly election in Delhi is to be held in February 2025.

Atishi, an MLA from Kalkaji, has succeeded Kejriwal as the Chief Minister of Delhi.
