Mumbai: In response to a customer’s disturbing discovery of a baby rat in their chicken curry, Mumbai’s Papa Pancho Da Dhaba restaurant has been temporarily closed by the Maharashtra Food and Drugs Administration (FDA).
Following an inspection prompted by the customer’s complaint, multiple irregularities were uncovered. The FDA’s directive mandates the restaurant to remain closed until full compliance with necessary guidelines is achieved.

Anurag Singh and a companion visited the eatery in Bandra for Punjabi cuisine, ordering mutton and chicken curries. Their meal took a horrifying turn when Anurag found a dead baby rat in the chicken curry. Anurag reported that the meat tasted unusual, leading to his gruesome discovery. Following this, the restaurant’s manager provided evasive responses to the duo’s complaint.
Subsequently, the restaurant’s manager and chef faced charges based on Anurag’s complaint. The police charged them, along with the chicken supplier, with various offences including food adulteration and endangering others’ safety. The incident gained significant attention on social media, with images of the incident shared on X (formerly Twitter). The images amassed over 200,000 views, prompting calls from users for stringent action against the restaurant.
