Nirmala Sitharaman Hospitalised; Undergoes Routine Checkup

New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi on Monday.

At around noon, 63-year-old Sitharaman was admitted to a private ward of the hospital. According to sources, she was admitted to AIIMS Delhi for a minor stomach infection and a routine checkup.

Nirmala Sitharaman was present at the Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University’s 35th annual convocation on Saturday in Chennai.

The finance minister stated that there was a clear need to enhance Tamil as a language and that medical education in Tamil Nadu should be taught in Tamil.
