NEET-UG Leak, Agnipath Scheme, Job Crisis to Spark Intense Debates in Parliament on Monday

New Delhi: Parliament is set to witness intense debates as both Houses reconvene on Monday, focusing on critical issues including the NEET paper leak controversy, the Agnipath initiative, and inflation concerns.

In the Lok Sabha, BJP member Anurag Thakur will initiate the debate on the Motion of Thanks on the President’s Address, seconded by first-term Lok Sabha member Bansuri Swaraj, daughter of the late BJP stalwart Sushma Swaraj. The debate, spanning 16 hours, will conclude with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s response on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the Rajya Sabha has allocated 21 hours for their debate, with the Prime Minister expected to reply on Wednesday.

The NEET issue has sparked significant unrest in Parliament following allegations of question paper leaks in states like Bihar, accompanied by other irregularities. Opposition parties are also likely to raise concerns about unemployment.

In recent sessions, the Lok Sabha was adjourned amid demands from the opposition INDIA bloc for a dedicated discussion on the NEET issue. In the Rajya Sabha, protests were intense, with opposition members, including Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge, protesting in the Well of the House.

During these debates, Congress member Phulo Devi Netam from Chhattisgarh fainted due to high blood pressure, highlighting the tensions surrounding the discussions.
