PSU Banks Recover More Than ₹1.3 Lakh Crore From Loan Written Off During Previous Five Fiscal Years: FM

New Delhi: Over the course of the last five financial years, the country’s Public Sector Banks (PSBs) have recovered a total of more than 1.3 lakh crore rupees from written-off loans.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman responded to a question during the Lok Sabha’s Question Hour by stating that the borrowers of written-off loans are still responsible for repayment and that efforts are being made to collect outstanding debts from them. Banks continue to use all available recovery methods to pursue recovery actions in written-off accounts.
