Mumbai: Resorting to a controversial statement, Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Gaikwad has declared that he will give Rs 11 lakh to anyone chopping off Rahul Gandhi’s tongue for his remarks on scrapping the reservation system.
While announcing the bizarre reward, the Sena MLA told newsmen, “While he was abroad, Rahul Gandhi said that he wants to finish off the reservation system in India. This has exposed the true face of the Congress.”
Shiv Sena is an ally of the BJP in Maharashtra. But the Maharashtra BJP president Chandrashekar Bawankule did not support the Shiv Sena MLA’s controversial statement.
Gaikwad is the MLA from Buldhana assembly seat in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra. He has been embroiled in controversies in the past. In July, a video of a policeman washing his car had gone viral on social media. Gaikwad claimed that the policeman cleaned the car voluntarily after vomiting inside it.
In February this year, Gaikwad declared that he had killed a tiger in 1987 and was wearing its tooth around his neck. The state Forest department sent the purported tiger tooth for forensic test and booked the MLA under the Wildlife Protection Act.
