Bengaluru: In a video doing rounds on the internet, Karnataka Minister V Somanna was supposedly seen slapping a woman on Sunday at a ceremony for distributing property titles in Hangala village, Chamrajnagar district.
In the video, a woman can be seen confronting the BJP leader to voice her complaints about not having a land title. The minister however is seen slapping her with obvious rage.
Despite being abused, the woman is seen in the video patting the minister’s feet and asking for his blessing.

The lady identified as Kempamma, however, denied receiving a slap from Somanna, the Karnataka minister of infrastructure development. She claimed that the minister had comforted her and that at home, she “worships the minister” with other deities.
“My family is quite underprivileged. I tripped over him and begged him to assign the land for me. He helped me up and comforted me. He tried to comfort me, but they think he had slapped me” explained Kempamma.
“He gave the land to us. He also gave us back the Rs 4,000 we had paid. His image has been preserved with those of other Gods and Goddesses. At home, we revere him,” she added.
V Somanna was scheduled to come at 3:30 PM for the presentation, but the minister didn’t show up until 6:30 PM. During the occasion, 175 land titles were distributed in total.
