2 Daughters-in Law Allegedly Poison their Mother-in-law in Balasore Dist!

Balasore: Two daughters-in-law allegedly killed their mother-in-law in the Balasore district of Odisha. The daughter and the brother of the deceased have registered a complaint with the police against these two women. Personnel of Jaleswar police station have rounded up both women for interrogation.

Basanti, the sister of Kalipad Raul from West Medinipur district of West Bengal had married Dinbandhu Das of Netua village under of Jaleswar police station in Balasore district. Basanti had two sons and a daughter. All of them are married.

Both her sons work outside. Basanti was living with her two daughters-in-law. It was alleged that these two daughters-in-law were torturing their mother-in-law. Several times in the past village elders and policemen had to intervene to save the mother-in-law from trouble.

Now it is alleged that the daughters-in-law poisoned Basanti and locked her up inside the house. Basanti’s daughter Sumitra, received information about it and rescued her mother in serious condition on Monday.

Basanti was initially admitted in Jaleswar’s GK Bhatt Hospital and then she was shifted to Balasore District Headquarters Hospital as her condition was critical.

She died on Tuesday during treatment. Following Basanti’s death, her daughter Sumitra lodged a complaint with the police at in Nampo outpost alleging that the two daughters-in-law had murdered her mother. Basanti’s brother also registered a similar complaint with the same allegation at the Jaleswar police station.

Following their complaints, police detained the two women for interrogation.
