3 Killed After Truck Hits Auto-Rickshaw in Angul

Angul: Three persons of a family were killed as a truck hit an auto-rickshaw which they were travelling near Khalagaon in Odisha’s Angul district.

The deceased were identified as Pitambar Pradhan, Gundicha and Munna of Kulasinga village under Bantala police limits.

As per reports, four people were returning home in the auto-rickshaw after leaving their daughter at her in-laws’ place in Nuaraiguda. On the way, the three-wheeler and a truck collided head-on killing Pitambar and his relative on the spot.

Munna and Pitambar’s wife Jambu sustained critical injuries in the road accident and were rushed to Bantala Hospital. Munna was later shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital as his condition deteriorated where he succumbed to injuries at the hospital.

The driver of the truck fled the spot. On being informed, police reached the spot and recovered the bodies for autopsy and started to investigate.
