4 Australian Tourists Test COVID Positive in Rajasthan; Five COVID Deaths in India in 24 Hrs

New Delhi: Four Australian tourists tested COVID positive in Rajasthan. They were kept under observation at the Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS) hospital in Jaipur. Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 5 COVID deaths were reported in the country. These deaths included two fatalities in Karnataka, two in Maharashtra, and one in Uttarakhand.

In the past 24 hours, India reported 618 fresh COVID-19 cases, according to the data shared by the Union health ministry.

During the past few weeks, India has been recording a rise in daily COVID cases. The death toll is also increasing. The active cases in the country increased to 4,197 while the death toll has reached 5,30,789.

But the COVID recovery rate has also remained at 98.80 per cent.

Data shared by the health ministry show there are 15 other districts in states like Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh and J&K in which the positivity rate is hovering between 5 per cent and 10 per cent.
