Lucknow: A 5-year-old boy was crushed to death under the debris of a government-built toilet that collapsed at Chapartala village in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri district on Saturday, reported India Today.  Substandard construction is alleged to be the reason behind this accident. The boy was playing outside his house when the government toilet collapsed on him.

The deceased named Pankaj was playing near the toilet built outside the house at around noon when the construction suddenly collapsed on him.  Pankaj got buried under the debris and died on the spot.

According to the family of the victim, this toilet was constructed in 2016 by the village head and village secretary.
