Air India Pilot Grounds Flight in Jaipur Saying ‘Duty Time Over’, Passengers Sent to Delhi by Road

New Delhi: Pilot of an Air India flight from London to Delhi landed in Jaipur and did not take off saying that his duty time was over.

The passengers on this flight had to wait for six hours at Jaipur airport and were finally sent to Delhi by road.

On Sunday, because of bad weather, three international and two domestic flights were diverted to Jaipur. They included the Air India flight AI-112 from London, scheduled to reach Delhi at 6:00 am.

When the pilot of this Air India flight refused to take off claiming that his duty hours were over, its passengers tweeted Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and MP Rajyavardhan Rathore.

After this, Air India went into action and promised a solution soon. But the passengers had to suffer for more than six hours remaining stranded at Jaipur airport. Later some passengers were transported to Delhi by Volvo bus and some cabs.
